About

Volume 2: Jumpin’ at the Woodside brings you 22 rare tracks from the late 30’s that define Count Basie’s Swing Era legacy. They also highlight the genius of the Pres, tenor saxophonist Lester Young.

What's unique is the definition and depth of the sound. The strokes of the guitar and the swinging rumblings of the bass drum are clearly audible. In the horns you get a sense of the air in the room. While not high fidelity, these recordings are superior to anything previously heard.
